The irrational becomes reality

Posted on

Yes, it’s pretty irrational to believe all this Christianity stuff. I mean, to think of God as three distinct persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit…and yet be one God…is pretty crazy. To actually believe that the Son came to earth as a servant in the likeness of man, revealing to us what His Father is like, and taking upon Himself the just punishment due for our sins…well, that’s pretty over the top.

Even the Bible says the word of the cross is foolishness….

People that believe such stuff are displaying their ignorance, some say. They are just a bunch of needy people that willfully ignore all valid science and logic in order to hold onto their ancient myths and fantasies.

But, what if that which seems so illogical and irrational really did happen? Would it change anything for you?

Most of humanity views God, if they believe in Him at all, as limited. They have created God in their own image. We all do this to some degree, but by doing so we lower Him and exalt ourselves. The “Christmas Story” then becomes nothing more than a gift exchange, a time to party, and an economic windfall for businesses. Indeed, the Holy Bible and its message becomes more and more irrational, foolish, and irrelevant.

So, the complete verse found in 1 Corinthians 1:18-19 proves to be true. “For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. For it is written, ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.'”
