Harvey Was Here, oil on linen panel, 16×16″, 2018. Painted during the Outdoor Painters Society, Plein Air Southwest painting event in Rockport, Texas. Hurricane Harvey struck this area with full force in August 2017, and the storm’s effect was still being felt nine months later. Rockport is a tight-knit community. Painting here and recording this time in Rockport’s history was a special privilege. Rockport is slowly recovering and, as always, will be Rockport Strong.
