I lived in California from 1968-72, when in the Air Force. It wasn’t until 2012 that my wife and I returned. I had forgotten just how beautiful much of the landscape is. Never having been to Carmel before, I just loved the opportunities to paint en plein air. This painting is one of those, mostly done on site, with some refinements in the studio.
