Many years ago, three artist friends and I rented a cabin in NW Arkansas and spent several days painting together in Boxley Valley and along the Buffalo River. The time spent together produced friendships, memories. and a familiarity with one another that remains to this day. It’s not unlike what happens when we paint on location, we develop memories of the experience and a familiarity and connection with the subject that can be carried into the studio many years later.
