Oil Painters of America has asked me to conduct two interviews during the 25th National Exhibition & Convention to be held this week at Southwest Gallery in Dallas. Both interviews will take place on 13 May at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Addison, just down the road from Southwest Gallery.
The first interview (1:00-2:30PM) will be with OPA Master Signature artist, Jeff Legg. He has been named the distinguished artist of this year’s national show. It will be fun interviewing Jeff since we are longtime friends. Points of discussion will be his background, art training, career direction, painting motivation and process, sage advice, and plans for the future.
The second interview (3:00-4:30PM) will feature a distinguished panel of art collectors. “The Art of Collecting”, featuring prominent art collectors, will include Hank and Mary Beckman (Texas), Jim Bruce (Oklahoma), Tim Newton (New York), and Tom Vining (Texas). We’ll discuss all aspects of collecting. Collectors, galleries, and artists will all benefit from this one.
