How to select primaries when using a limited palette

Many painters struggle with the idea of using a limited palette of just three primary colors. The common belief is, the colors needed can’t be mixed with just red, yellow, and blue, additionally, it is believed if one wants a colorful painting then a lot of tube colors are needed on the palette. Plus, those that are fearful about using such a limited palette have not really invested the time to discover all of its benefits.

I’ve basically worked with a limited palette for over 30 years, so I’m convinced of its many benefits.
