“Can I Play?” – the creative process

Posted on

This week I share with you a short video that shows the complete creative process behind the creation of one of my most recent paintings…”Can I Play?”

Many of us have been there when children. New to a neighborhood, a little shy, a little fearful, but desperately wanting to be accepted by the other kids in the neighborhood, “Can I Play?’ recreates that tension. A young boy, new to the neighborhood, paused by the curb for a long time before getting up enough courage to ask the group of kids playing ball if he could play with them. It’s a heartwarming story, the type of stuff I love to paint.

I hope you enjoy the video.

This painting is available through Southwest Gallery in Dallas. You may also view it framed HERE.

HERE it can be viewed on my website.

Next week, an interview with Tim Breaux.
