Welcome to my website and to my latest newsletter. This is a breakthrough for me because this is the first newsletter I have produced that is specifically for this site and only for this site. I have decided to use this medium from now on as the primary way of keeping in touch with you my collectors, students and fans. If I do not have your e-mail address, PLEASE forward that to me so that I can notify you as each newsletter comes on-line.

GALLERY NEWS

I want to officially welcome Gallery 1000 as the exclusive representative of my works in California. Located in Carmel, the gallery presents a distinctive collection of impressionistic oils, dry-point engraving, glass sculpture and bas-relief in bronze. Owner, Maria Ward, is proud to present these selections from a cosmopolitan coterie of internationally acclaimed artists from around the world. Maria has maintained the focus on original, quality art that continues to appeal to discriminating art lovers. The gallery is privileged to have both local and foreign collectors, a testament to the quality of the art presented. I’m pleased to have Gallery 1000 represent me. I hope you will go see her when in California. See her website: www.gallery1000.com

  COMPETITION NEWS

Arts for the Parks – I had pretty good success this year in the extremely competitive juried competition to select the best paintings of our national parks from the thousands of works submitted. Last year I submitted one work and it was selected as one of the ‘Top 100’. This year I submitted four works and had three accepted. The painting at left, “Woody Goldenrod,” was selected as one of the ‘Top 200’ paintings. In a new category featuring the top fifty miniature works, two of my paintings were chosen. All the works will be on display and available for purchase through September at the Jackson Lake Lodge, Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole, WY.
Oil Painters of America – “Oh Silence Profound” was my submission for the 11th Annual National Juried Exhibition. Chosen from hundreds of paintings, the selected works by artists from almost every state were exhibited by the Hilligoss Galleries in Chicago through the month of May. International Artist Magazine Challenge No. 8 – At last a top three finish in the magazine’s monthly painting competition featuring, this time, Flowers and Gardens. I have placed in the top ten twice before so it was nice to finally make the podium… and the cash award was a great bonus also.

  THOUGHT PROVOKING NEWS

This was sent to me by a fellow pumpkin. I think it qualifies as thought provoking.

A woman was asked by a co-worker, “What is it like to be a Christian?” The
co-worker replied, “It is like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you, Next, He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc., and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for the entire world to see.”

  Think about it.

  Blessings to you.
