Dear Friends:
Well, you
haven't received a newsletter from me in a while so I thought
I would enclose a small one with my latest color brochure. I hope
you enjoy the work. Each piece is available for purchase. I continue
to stay quite busy with gallery and show demands in addition to
being an occasional juror, performing a demonstration or teaching
a workshop. This short newsletter highlights a few other events
and activities. Hope you're all doing well. As always I really
appreciate your support and encouragement.
Blessings
to you.

AWAKENINGS
OF A GARDEN |
|
| |
|
|
| |
 |
|
To
promote the public opening of the 210-acre Garvan Woodland Gardens,
15 landscape and floral artists from across the nation were
invited to paint on location in the Gardens in mid-April. I
was honored to be one of the selected participants. |
| |
|
| |
The
plein air painting event has already been promised a major feature
article in International Artist Magazine while other articles
will be sought in Southern Living, Midwest Living, and prominent
garden magazines. |
| |
|
| |
A
traveling exhibit of the art will further expand awareness of
the Gardens throughout the region. |
| |
|
| |
I
completed 11 on site studies and enlarged two of these for the
traveling exhibition. Awakening Garden, 24 x 36 inch oil on
canvas and Woodland Waterfall, 24 x 12 inch oil on board were
my submissions. Both are available for purchase. |

| Garvan
Gardens is being developed into a world-class botanical garden
and is expected to attract 200,000 visitors per year. It features
a four-acre Asian rock and stream garden, Garden of the Pine
Wind, which includes three major cascades, a 12-foot waterfall,
springs, pools and a pond more than a half-acre in size. |
|
 |
| |
|
| Scheduled
to open this fall, a trip to this wonderful oasis in Hot Springs,
Arkansas will be well worth it. |

OIL
PAINTERS OF AMERICA NATIONAL EXHIBITION |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Several
years ago I was awarded the Oil Painters of America (OPA) signature
membership. To receive this recognition an artist must be selected
by jury for exhibit in three OPA Nationals. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
This
year the Zantman Art Gallery in Palm Desert, CA. hosted the show during
the month of April. My painting, "A Possible Fish Story" was awarded
the Tara/Fredrix award for Best Landscape. The juror was Marilyn Simandle.
The painting can be purchased through me or one the galleries nearest
you that represent me. |
